About Rose Ann Hirsch

Rose Ann Hirsch is an amusement park historian, author, roller coaster enthusiast, and longtime collector of park history. Since her teenage years, she has built extensive research files on amusement parks past and present, preserving photographs, stories, and details that might otherwise be lost.

Her interest in the paranormal began at age eleven after she read Antonia Barber’s The Ghosts. Rose Ann began writing ghost stories soon afterward and became a paranormal investigator in 2006. Those experiences later shaped Dead Park Tales, her middle-grade fiction series about hauntings, mysteries, and forgotten amusement parks.

Rose Ann is also the author of three nonfiction books documenting amusement park history:

• Western New York Amusement Parks
• and Kiddie Parks of the Adirondacks

Her artistic background and love of antique carousels led to a career restoring carousel horses, which began in 1989.

Rose Ann continues to visit amusement parks throughout North America with her husband, whom she met at Kennywood Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
